The wedding fatiha united Senator Barau’s son, Jibrin Barau I. Jibrin (Abba), with Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, the daughter of the former Emir of Bichi, on one hand and the deputy Senate President’s daughter, Aisha Barau I. Jibrin, with Engineer Abubakar, the son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of the Azman Group of Companies, on the other hand.

The ceremony was held at the National Mosque, immediately after the two raka’at Juma’at prayers.

President Tinubu served as representative (Wakil and Waliy) for both children of Senator Barau, delegating Speaker Tajuddeen Abbas to represent him. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje acted as Waliy for the daughter of the Emir of Bichi, while former Nasarawa State governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, served as Wakil for Engineer Abubakar, the son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Sarina.

The wedding ceremony was officiated by the Imam of the National Mosque, Professor Ibrahim Maqari.
