FSTC AWKA CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF BRIDGE OF FAITH FOUNDATION FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2024

Awka, Anambra State – The 2024 edition of the Bridge of Faith Foundation Football Tournament came to a thrilling conclusion on November 15, 2024, with Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC) Awka emerging as the champion.

The tournament, which kicked off on October 16, 2024, featured 16 participating schools from across the state. The competition was fierce, with schools battling it out for the top prize.

After a series of intense matches, four schools – Ezi-Awka Community Secondary School, Federal Government College Nise, FSTC Awka, and Comprehensive Science and Technical College Nawfia – qualified for the semi-finals.

The semi-final matches, played on November 12, 2024, drew a massive crowd of over 5,000 spectators. Ezi-Awka Community Secondary School and FSTC Awka emerged victorious, qualifying for the final match.

The final match, played on November 15, 2024, at the Federal Science and Technical College Awka Football Stadium, was a nail-biting encounter. FSTC Awka battled it out with Ezi-Awka Community Secondary School, ultimately emerging as the champion.

In the third-place match, Comprehensive Science and Technical College Nawfia defeated Federal Government College Nise, the defending champions, with a score of 2-0.

The tournament’s organizing committee, led by Comr. Izuogu John, expressed gratitude to the sponsors, including Dr. Marg Royle, Douglas Taylor, and Chief Felix N. Molokwu, for their support.

The committee also appreciated the contributions of Mr. Agummadu God’s will, who assisted with logistics and other tasks.

Awards, medals, and trophies were presented to deserving teams. Participating fees were also given to all schools that participated, as well as their coaches.

The Bridge of Faith Foundation Football Tournament has become an annual event, providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents. The foundation looks forward to an even better edition in the year 2025.

8. Kenneth Dike Memorial Grammar School Awka
9. Union Secondary School Amawbia
10. Ezike High School Nibo
11. Emeka Aghasili Memorial Secondary School Nise
12. Nneoma Secondary School Nibo
13. Community Secondary School Mbaukwu
14. Government Technical College Enugwu-Agidi
15. Federal Science and Technical College Awka
16. Federal Government College Nise.
