Yobe Drugs Management Agency Receives Six Awards, Recognitions Over Performance

The Yobe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (YODMA) has received six different awards and recognitions over excellent performance in drugs management and supply across the state.
The agency received the awards during the 2024 Annual Health Supply Chain Summit organised by the Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with other health actors held at the Providence Hotel Ikeja, Lagos state.

The annual health supply chain summit has been an event where the states, pharmaceutical industries and International Organizations’ activities in the health supply chain are assessed as well as reviewed in addition to signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with companies for better results.

The award, which was categorized into organizational and individual over performance, has Yobe excelling in both categories with plaques and certificates.

The executive secretary of the agency, Pharmacist Abdul-Aziz Garba Mohammed has while receiving the awards on behalf of the state government expressed happiness that the efforts of the organisation is being recognized nationally.

Mohammed who dedicated the awards to governor Mai Mala Buni over his commitments to the health sector equally expressed saluted the commissioner of health Dr Mohammed Lawan Gana and other health actors in the state for making YODMA more active and vibrant.

The ES said the event geared towards ensuring that organisations involved in the partnership are respecting the spirit and dictates of the signed agreements is playing a vital role in shaping the supply chain strategies for better delivery and service to the people.

During the ceremony, YODMA received awards from MoU companies over adherence to due process as well as award of excellence from Fidson, Sam, Orfema, Drugfield and KAIZEN Institute.

On International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA) recognition, Yobe State was adjudged the overall best with six awards of recognition with 3 candidates with 4 certificates each, one candidate with 3 certificates and 2 with 2 certificates, all of which are multidisciplinary awards.

YODMA during the event also presented awards to three companies of Fidson Healthcare Plc with Gold medal, Phillips Pharmaceuticals Nigeria Ltd, Silver while Jawa International went away with Bronze medal award.

This is the second edition of the Supply Chain Summit where Yobe consistently tops in the awards while the executive secretary received a lifetime membership of the Africa Resource Center for Excellence in Supply Chain Management (ARC_ESM) Expert Pool.
