The official website of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has been compromised by hackers.
This was disclosed by the Bureau in a post on its X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday night.
It, however, said efforts were ongoing to recover the website, warning Nigerians to disregard any message or report posted on the website until it was fully recovered.

NBS wrote: “This is to inform the public that the NBS Website has been hacked and we are working to recover it. Please disregard any message or report posted until the website is fully restored.”

On a visit to the website by our correspondent, a warning was displayed – “Page Hacked” – while the page could not be navigated further.

LEADERSHIP reports that NBS is the main national agency responsible for the development and management of official statistics, the authoritative source and custodian of official statistics in Nigeria.
