The Federal Fire Service in Bauchi State has designed modalities to reduce recorded fire incidents by 50 per cent, especially during this harmattan season.
The acting comptroller of the Federal Fire Service in Bauchi, Babangida Abba, said this during an interaction with journalists.
He explained that the service remained committed to reducing the rate of fire incidents recorded in Bauchi, which led to the loss of lives and property.
He called on residents of Bauchi to actively report any fire incident to their service for prompt response.
Abba said the service put in place needed resources to quench fire disasters effectively.
He emphasised the importance of public enlightenment in achieving the Federal Fire Service’s goal of reducing fire-related disasters in Bauchi State by at least 50%.
The Acting Comptroller revealed plans for the annual Fire Week, an event organised by the service to educate the public on fire prevention and safety measures.
