Patricia Technologies, a Lagos-based financial services technology firm, has initiated repayments to its customers affected by a 2022 security breach on its cryptocurrency trading platform.

The cyber attack resulted in losses exceeding ₦600 million, leading the company to temporarily restrict withdrawals and seek assistance from law enforcement agencies.

Following an investigation by the National Cybercrime Centre of the Nigeria Police (NPF-NCCC), four suspects, including a politician were arrested in November 2023.

This development has enabled Patricia Technologies to commence a phased repayment process, which began on December 10, 2024. Affected subscribers have been notified via email, with further batches scheduled for future disbursements.

CEO Hanu Fejiro emphasised the company’s dedication to its customers, stating.

“This repayment process represents a milestone in the fulfilment of our commitment to making things right for them. We appreciate their patience, understanding, and trust in Patricia as we hope that this refund brings them joy during this festive period.”
