Oreh said: “Family planning and reproductive health have been rightfully identified as critical priorities, given their profound impact on reducing maternal mortality, improving child survival and fostering socioeconomic growth.”

She stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has demonstrated a commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, ensuring availability of essential medicines and supplies and fostering partnerships that drives innovations and efficiency in the healthcare delivery.

The Health Commissioner said: “Today, we celebrate the transformative power of collaboration, visionary  leadership and a shared commitment towards advancing the health and wellbeing of the people of Rivers State.

“The vision of His Excellency for health in Rivers State is not only ambitious but inspiring, and that vision is to build a resilient, equitable and accessible healthcare system that prioritizes the health and wellbeing of every single resident of the state.

“His Excellency has demonstrated a commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, ensuring availability of essential medicines and supplies and fostering partnerships that drive innovations and efficiency in the healthcare delivery.

“This administration has demonstrated remarkable dedication to reshaping the health sector to meet the health needs of our people.”

In his remarks, UNFPA’s head of Office, Cross River sub-office, Dr. Andrew Kirima, said the procurement was a sign of the Rivers State government’s dedication to enhancing reproductive health services and ensuring the wellbeing of the citizens.
