Adamawa Targets 500 Youths On Solar Power Training, Maintenance

At least 500 more youths have been screened to benefit from training on renewable energy technology to curb unemployment in Adamawa State.

The senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Abbas, stated this at the graduation of 50 youths as master trainers from the constituency.

The training, which was conducted in collaboration with the Energy Commission of Nigeria and Shining Structure Synergy Limited, drew participants from the state’s Central Senatorial zone.

The beneficiaries were provided with start-up tools after the training which will assist them to train others and serve as guide in the course of maintenance and installation of solar system.

In his remarks, the director general of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, represented by Alh. Na’yaya Garba, explained that the beneficiaries were equipped with the necessary skills to acquire renewable energy technologies for solar hybrid systems.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the knowledge acquired during the training for the benefit of the society.

 

Mr. Nafi’u Tijjani, who, alongside N’ayaya Garba, supervised the training in Yola on behalf of the Energy Commission, commended Senator Iya Abbas for his commitment to equipping the youth with various skills for self-reliance.

 

One of the beneficiaries, Jacob Zatan, promised to use the knowledge he acquired to improve his standard of living.
