The Shamies Unusual Heart Foundation has impacted widows and disadvantaged women in Akwete, an Abia State, South-Eastern Nigeria community.

The event, organised in the spirit of the Christmas season, witnessed various donations of items, including bags of rice, noodles, wrappers, condiments, cash gifts, and other essentials.

The Foundation’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Asogwa, represented the founders, Amb. Dr. Sara Abdul and Dr. Alex Akara.

Asogwa explained that the donations were aimed at bringing happiness to the beneficiaries during the festive season.

He said: “Although the founders of our foundation are not physically present, their hearts are with you. They sincerely wish you all a joyful Christmas celebration. In these challenging times, they are committed to spreading the season’s love and supporting you in their little way, as God has enabled them.”

The programme director of the Foundation, Mr Shedrach Oka, emphasised the significance of the outreach. He described it as one of the organisation’s core initiatives to support widows and disadvantaged individuals during Christmas.

Oka said: “As an organisation, we are deeply aware of widows’ struggles. We see their challenges and understand their difficulties. This is why our founders are determined to bring smiles to their faces during Christmas.”

Several beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Shamies Foundation for its kindness and generosity, offering prayers for the Executive Directors and the founders.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Josephine Amaechi, shared her overwhelming joy.

She explained that she had lost hope of celebrating Christmas due to the rising cost of living and her inability to sustain herself. She praised the Foundation for their support and prayed abundant blessings upon them and their founders.
