Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya, signed the 2025 appropriation bill of N320 billion into law yesterday.
The budget was passed by the state House of Assembly after the governor presented the proposed budget.
During the signing ceremony held at the council chamber of the government house in Gombe, the governor assured that the 2025 budget was designed to improve the socio-economic conditions of Gombe State residents.
He noted that, with the prompt passage of the budget by the House of Assembly and his ascension, the government would continue with its massive projects and embark on new ones to enhance the development of the state and people’s wellbeing.
During the ceremony, the governor also approved the establishment of the Gombe State Commission for Persons with Disabilities following a recent bill on disability protection passed by state lawmakers.
Inuwa explained that creating the commission for persons with disabilities would substantially contribute to supporting them and addressing their plights.
Meanwhile, the governor announced the appointment of Dr Isiyaku Adamu, the state chairman of the Association of Persons with Disabilities, as the executive secretary of the newly established commission.
