President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been lauded for appointing men of impeccable character into the Executive Management Board of the South East Development Commission (SEDC).

The commendation was given by High Chief Sunnie Chukumele, President of Global Initiative for Leadership Success, in Abuja yesterday.

Chukumele noted that the choices made by the President represent the best in the South East region, adding that the nominees parade impressive credentials that stand them in good stead.

He noted that the appointments reflected spread, equity, and balance within the zone.

He expressed happiness at the calibre of the nominees, saying that they possess what it takes to actualise the development vision of President Tinubu for the South East.

For Chukumele, the choice of Dr. Emeka Wogu, former Minister of Labour and Productivity, and Mark C. Okoye, a key player in the reform agenda of Governor Soludo of Anambra State as the managing director, remain thoughtful and strategic.

He also noted the choice of Stanley Ohajuruka, former Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, as Executive Director, Finance and Administration; and Hon. Toby Okechukwu from Enugu State as Executive Director, Project; contending that they were square pegs in square holes.

Similarly, he applauded the choice of Dr. Clifford Ogbede, from Imo State as the Executive Director, Agriculture, Rural Development and Natural Resources, Barrister Sylvester Okonkwo as the Executive Director, Corporate Services and Senator Anthony Agbo, from Ebonyi as Executive Director, Commercial Services.

Chukumele said that all the five States in the South East were fully represented at the Executive Management Board, which is an attestation of President Tinubu’s commitment to fairness and equity.

Chukumele said the business community in the South East is pleased with the choice of the nominees because of their pedigree. He asserted that with the constitution of the Board, the South East was set for social rejuvenation.
