The deputy president of the Senate, Senator Barau Inuwa Jibrin, has called on Nigerians to remain steadfast and hopeful while urging intensified prayers for peace, unity, and the nation’s economic progress in the coming year.
In his Christmas goodwill message, issued to newsmen yesterday in Abuja by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau congratulated Christians and all Nigerians for their resilience in 2024 despite various challenges.
He emphasised the importance of staying united in the collective pursuit of a better future for the country.
The senator expressed optimism about the 2025 national budget, which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently presented to the National Assembly, describing it as a potential game-changer for Nigeria’s economic trajectory.
He assured Nigerians that the legislature is committed to thorough oversight to ensure full and effective budget implementation.
“I rejoice with the Christian faithful and all Nigerians on this year’s Christmas,” he said. “This year has presented us with challenges, but it has also shown our resilience, courage, and determination as a people. Let us remain hopeful and steadfast in our collective pursuit of a brighter and more prosperous Nigeria.”
He urged Christians to reflect on and live by Christ’s teachings during the festive season and beyond, adding that leaders at all levels are committed to ensuring Nigerians reap the dividends of democracy.
“As leaders, we are committed to working tirelessly to ensure that every Nigerian enjoys the dividends of democracy. We are determined to create an environment where every citizen can thrive where peace and security reign supreme,” he added.
Senator Barau also wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, expressing hope that 2025 would usher in a new era of growth and prosperity for the nation.
