Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Rev. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, brought hope and joy to inmates at the Correctional Centre, Kaduna on Christmas Day.

In his homily at the centre he preached repentance to the inmates, saying God never despised or falled humanity.

“To lose hope is the worst thing that can happen to any human being. No matter how big you think your sins are, God is ready to accept a repentant heart. We came to assure the inmates of hope. God has not abandoned you and he cannot abandon his flock. So, don’t lose hope,” he said.

According to him, Christmas is not just about celebration; but also about rekindling hope.

“I want all of you to bear this in mind, no matter how sinful or terrible your mistakes were, God can never give up on you. Remember God still answers prayers.

We want you to know you are loved, valued, and capable of change. The fact that you are here does not mark the end of the road. You must recognise your challenges, trust in God and resolve to change. With that realisation, your future holds great promise”.

He further noted that mistakes are stepping stones, not final destinations, and there is hope for the living. He encouraged Nigerians to show love to one another irrespective of religious affiliation, saying many Nigerians are going through difficult moments. The archbishop donated food, clothes, shoes and toiletries to the inmates.
