Why My Administration Prioritised Road Infrastructure – Diri

Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, says his administration’s major priority is to connect every local government headquarters in the largely riverine state by road.

Senator Diri stated this when he received the Friends of Senator Douye Diri (FSDD) at his home In Sampou, Kolokuma/Opokuma local government area.

He said to address part of the state’s development challenges, his administration embarked on the construction of roads and bridges to open up the hinterland and alleviate the plight of people living in rural communities.

He said, “I knew how we suffered during the burial of my mother at Ayamasa. We had to go through Bomadi in Delta State. It was almost like a day’s journey. But, today, it only takes about an hour from the state capital and you are in Ayamasa in Ekeremor local government area.
