Yobe State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Umar Duddaye, has confirmed that the Yobe State government spent over N7.95 billion to construct eleven significant roads across the state.
The Honourable Commissioner, who stated this in Damaturu, the state capital, said the 10-kilometre Chumbusko-Tagali road was constructed at over N3.4 billion, and the Jajimaji-Karasuwa road built at the cost of over N2 billion Naira.
He said over N582.9 million was spent on township roads and drainages in Potiskum town.
He said the Damagum township roads and drainage project at N530.4 million, Kayayya Bridge earthworks in Gaidam, was completed at N294.9 million Naira.
Umar described that N98.6 million was also spent on the rehabilitation of the Babangida- Biriri road, N93.1 million on applying asphalt at Bukar Abba Ibrahim Estate entrance, Damaturu and N69.9 million on the renovation of Buni Yadi-Buni Gari road.
Duddaye said that N62.8 million and N32.9 million were spent on rehabilitating the Katarko-Goniri road and constructing a triple box culvert at Kayayya in Geidam.
Others were the Damaturu-Kalallawa dual carriageway, Kukuri-Chukuriya, Potiskum township roads, Nguru-Karasuwa, construction of Damaturu City Gates, Geidam-Bukarti, Fika-Maluri, Gashua-Masab, Nguru-Bulanguwa, and Kanamma-Yunusari.
