As Nigerians welcome the new year, Ismaila Yusuf Atus,
Managing Director, XpressRide, a leading transportation company in Nigeria, has expressed optimism about the prospects of the country’s transportation sector in 2025.

In a statement released to mark the beginning of the new year, the XpressRide MD noted that despite the challenges faced by the transportation sector in recent years, there are indications that 2025 will be a year of significant progress.

“On behalf of the management and staff f XpressRide, I welcome you to a new year filled with hope and new opportunities! As we step into 2025, let’s take a moment to reflect on the challenges we faced last year, particularly in our transportation sector.

“In 2024, many Nigerians felt the pinch of rising costs and inflation, which made transportation more difficult and expensive. From higher fuel prices to fewer available rides, these hardships tested our patience and resilience. But through it all, we showed that we can support one another and find ways to keep moving forward.

“This year, we urge the federal government to focus on making transportation better for everyone. Imagine an affordable system where you can track your ride in real time and feel safe every time you travel. It’s important that every Nigerian feels secure and confident when getting into a car, no matter the circumstances.

“Let’s also prioritize creating jobs for our teeming youths and encouraging the use vehicles that are fuel efficient and also suited for our roads. By supporting our own people and resources, we can create a more reliable and affordable ride-hailing system.

“This would not only help reduce costs but also empower our nation and strengthen our economy.

“We invite all Nigerians to join us in this mission. Your support and ideas are vital as we work together to improve transportation for everyone. Let’s make sure our voices are heard and our needs are met.

“As we welcome 2025, let’s do so with determination and teamwork! Together, we can build a brighter future for our nation and make transportation a source of pride for every Nigerian.”The statement reads.
