Mrs Otti Doles Out N1.4m To First Babies

The wife of Abia State governor, Priscilla Otti, presented N1.4m to the first set of four babies delivered in the state on January 1, this year.

Mrs Otti presented yesterday at Aba South Primary Health Care Centre, Aba, expressing delight with the babies’ safe delivery.

The first, Chiudo Favour, who was delivered at 0.08, received N.5m, while the others who arrived shortly after received N.3m a piece.

Speaking on the occasion, the first lady congratulated the families of the babies and stressed that the government is focused on improving the health sector.

She underscored the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for babies for the first six months and commended the workers’ efforts in delivering quality services.

Responding, Comfort Favour, the mother of Chiudo, expressed gratitude to the governor’s wife and prayed for divine blessings upon her and the government.

During a similar visit to the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia, the state capital, the first lady distributed gifts to newborn mothers.

Addressing them, she noted that “every child born in the state is a blessing, and the government must support their families during this precious moment.”
