The North East Youth Ambassadors yesterday said that it is proud of having Dr. Bala Wunti, a director with the NNPCL as an indigene of Bauchi in the Northeast geo-political zone of the country.

Bala M. Winti was named one of the 100 Most Reputable Africans 2025 Edition by Reputation Poll International for his transformative leadership in the energy sector, which has driven innovation, energy security, and sustainable value creation on a global scale.

The group zonal chairman, Comrade Haruna Usman Muhammad, has said that Bala Wunti is a public servant and philanthropist who has assisted communities not only in his home state of Bauchi or Nigeria but also on the entire African continent.

“Bala Maijama’a Wunti is a globally recognized energy industry executive and transformational leader with extensive expertise in strategic leadership”, Ambassadors’ Chief Haruna said.

According to Haruna, Bala Wunti is an organizational transformer, who profers innovative solutions in the Nigerian oil and gas sector, driving commercial competitiveness, energy security, and sustainable value creation through robust economic modeling, stakeholder engagement, and policy implementation.

Mr. Haruna Mohammed noted that if the Northeast had about five Bala Wunti, the subregion would have excelled in various sectors of socio-economic and infrastructural transformation by now.

“The number of students he provided scholarships to in areas of education, health, agriculture, empowerment is unprecedented in the history of the northeast subregion”, Haruna stated.

“Ask some of the educational institutions in the northeast geo-political zone, especially tertiary institutions such as the University of Maiduguri, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic and so on, and so forth, you would wonder about the man’s contributions to educational growth and development”, Haruna recalled.

Mr Haruna Mohammed, therefore, urged well-to-do persons in the country, particularly in the northeast, to emulate Bala Wunti in the quest to patriotically move the socioeconomic, infrastructural and empowerment milieu of the country forward.
