The speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Aliyu Umar, has congratulated the Maigari of Lokoja, HRH Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV and the Mayaki of Kupa, HRH Alhaji Pharmacist Dauda Kabir Isah on the occasion of their first year anniversary on the thrones.

The Speaker thanked the traditional rulers for the leadership and positive socio-economic turnaround they have brought to their domains with their unique leadership styles.

The speaker noted that Lokoja, the host of Kogi State capital, has seen many positive changes, with the people becoming more united while the past mistrust has given way to more robust relationships among the ethnic groups since the current Maigari took over a year ago.

Similarly, he said the same trend was noticed in the Kupa Kingdom since the present Mayaki assumed the reign of the kingdom, stressing that the socio-economic activities of the area have picked up rapidly.

He urged them to continue to provide leadership to their people, noting that it was only through such traditional headship that the areas, Lokoja local government and the state could move forward.
