Women’s Group Hails Tinubu Over SEDC Board’s Constitution

National coordinator of Women Arise 4 Tinubu, Princess Oby Onu, has hailed the newly constituted board members of the South East Development Commission (SEDC).

In a statement she made available to the media yesterday, Onu commended President Bola Tinubu for giving his assent to the bill and following it up by constituting a competent team to steer the affairs of the commission.

Onu, a lawyer, said with the development commission, the South East Region would witness unprecedented growth and economic revival.

She said the infrastructure deficit in South East caused by the civil war and the persistent agitation for secession by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) would be addressed with the commission coming into full operation.

Princess Onu also praised Tinubu for his promise to complete the Enugu- Maiduguri Railway project saying the completion of the railway project will give way for the spontaneous growth of the southeast economic corridor thereby increasing in productivity, job creation and security.

She further saluted the president for his visionary and pragmatic leadership in splitting the Nigeria Aviation College campuses to the six-geopolitical zones with the campus of Southeast cited in Ebonyi State and extolled the minister of works, Engr. David Umahi and other South East leaders for making it possible.

She also commended region’s leaders such as Senator Pius Anyim Pius, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu and the Enugu State governor Peter Mbah for keeping the zone on a progressive path, stressing that unity among the leaders was central to the development of South East.
