Bauchi Govt Denies Budgeting N400m For 6 Computers

Bauchi State government has denied the allegation that it allocated N400 million in the approved 2025 budget to procure six computers for the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

A media report claimed that the state approved N400 million for six computers in 2025, an allegation that the SSG, Aminu Hammayo, denied in a statement made available to reporters in Bauchi.

“The ludicrous claim that the Bauchi State Government has allocated N400 million in the 2025 budget to purchase six computers for the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) is nothing but a pedestrian and intellectually bankrupt propaganda.

“This absurd fabrication not only exposes the non-existent intellectual capacity of its sponsors but also underscores their desperation to smear the sterling reputation of Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration with baseless accusations,” the statement read in part.

He said the proposed 2025 budget allocates N250 million for the procurement of IT infrastructure, which includes approximately 150 computers to be distributed across the SSG office, Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency, Hajj Commission, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Service and selected secondary schools.

“This initiative underscores the administration’s unwavering commitment to modernising critical institutions and advancing the state’s digital transformation,” he added.

Hammayo said the preposterous narrative of N400 million for six computers was a lie concocted by detractors rattled by the administration’s remarkable developmental achievements.

“Their failure to come up with something remotely credible reveals their desperation and outright ineptitude. These antics will not sway Bauchi State but remain steadfast in its mission to deliver impactful, progressive governance for its people,” he said.
