Oba Owoade headed to Oyo Town where he was received amidst pomp and pageantry by sons and daughters immediately after the presentation on Monday.

He is expected to proceed with his traditional rites for ascension to the throne of his forefathers thereafter.

All markets, including the ancient Akesan Market were closed, while people positioned themselves along the major roads leading to the palace and family house of the monarch.

The Iyaloja of Oyo, Alhaja Adijat Bakare, stated that the suspension of trading activities was in consonance with the customs and tradition of the Oyo people.
