Through the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the federal government has adopted the theme for 2025: “FCSSIP25: Final Sprint – Delivering Results,” urging civil servants to embrace this theme and align their efforts with its vision.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, announced this yesterday during the induction of newly promoted directors. She also shared that the Office has adopted a slogan for this year: “2025: Year of Accomplishments.”

Walson-Jack stated that this slogan encapsulates their commitment to making 2025 a year of exceptional achievements across the Civil Service. She urged civil servants to be inspired, innovative, collaborative, and purposeful in executing their duties.

“I would like to urge you to internalise this mantra as a guiding principle. As you step into your roles as Directors, I encourage you to embody the core values of FCSSIP25: accountability, meritocracy, professionalism, loyalty, and efficiency.

These principles are the foundation of a responsive, transparent, and forward-thinking Civil Service. By upholding these values, you will enhance the Service‘s credibility and inspire confidence among the citizens we are privileged to serve.

As newly promoted Directors, your roles are critical in driving reforms and ensuring that the Civil Service remains a model of professionalism, efficiency, and integrity.

You are leaders now, and leadership comes with the responsibility to inspire, mentor, and deliver tangible results. Your actions will significantly impact the lives of millions of Nigerians who depend on the effectiveness of the Civil Service,“ she said.

The Head of the Civil Service further advised the directors that as they assume critical responsibilities in shaping the trajectory of the nation’s public administration, the Civil Service, as the backbone of government operations, plays a pivotal role in implementing policies, delivering public services, and ensuring that the machinery of government runs efficiently and effectively.

We must collectively work towards fully implementing these transformative reforms. The progress made under FCSSIP25 has already set a strong foundation, but this final year presents an opportunity to consolidate gains and deliver results that will leave a lasting legacy.

The role of the Civil Servant has evolved significantly over time. We no longer operate within the confines of routine administration. Today’s civil servants are expected to be innovative, adaptable, and proactive in responding to governance challenges, which aligns with Nigerians‘ aspirations.

This induction is not just an introductory session but a key investment in your future and the future of the Civil Service. It is designed to provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and insights to function effectively in your new roles.

You will learn about the policies and strategic priorities of the Federal Government, as well as the core values and ethical standards that define the Nigerian Civil Service. Through this training, we aim to ensure that you understand the critical expectations placed on you as Directors and that you are fully equipped to manage the challenges and opportunities ahead,“ she concluded.
