The event, held on Tuesday in Gombe, aimed to promote a unified approach to primary health care (PHC) delivery and strengthen the state’s PHC systems.

The orientation provided a comprehensive overview of the agency’s structure, operational framework, and functional processes, offering participants valuable insights into the workings of GSPHCDA.

A critical focus was placed on the provisions and achievements of the PHC Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and its sustainability strategies, ensuring stakeholders were well-informed about ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services in Gombe State.

Participants were also introduced to the Seattle Declaration and PHC Leadership Challenge Indicators, which align local PHC efforts with global health commitments and performance metrics. This introduction was designed to familiarize attendees with international best practices and encourage adherence to global standards in primary healthcare delivery.

The event brought together an array of stakeholders, including government officials, health experts, and representatives from international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).

In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of GSPHCDA, Dr. Abdulrahman Shu’aibu, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to building a resilient and sustainable healthcare system in Gombe State.

He emphasized the importance of collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement in achieving better health outcomes for communities across the state.

“This orientation is part of our strategic efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery. By working together and aligning with global standards, we are ensuring that our healthcare systems remain robust and capable of meeting the needs of our people in line with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s vision of creating a resilient, inclusive, and accessible healthcare system for all residents of Gombe State,” he stated.
