The member representing Yagba East, West and Mopamuro federal constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide has asked his supporters across the state to leave his colleague, Hon. James Faleke (APC, Lagos), out of unhealthy politics.

The lawmaker said this while reacting to political comments made by some persons regarding politics of his constituency ahead of the 2027 election where Faleke’s name was mentioned as the source.

In a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, Abejide said he would not want himself to be distracted from governance and how to better the lives of his constituents.

The chairman, House Committee on Customs, expressed confidence that Faleke did not send those people he described as political jobbers on such an errand.

Abejide called for focus on governance and development rather than engaging in divisive or premature political activities and urged his supporters and constituents to leave Faleke out of such narratives.

He said the chairman of the House committee on finance did not endorse or direct the alleged political remarks, highlighted his respect for his colleague and underscored the need for integrity in political discourse.

They are only using his name to curry favour to themselves, so please forget about all the noise and let us concentrate on how the lives of our people will be better not politics of destruction some people started so early in 2024.

“As for me I am only ready to face governance to alleviate the suffering of our people. My first budget for my second term has not even been executed and some people who have nothing to do except being a political jobbers will drag me into politics and distract me never,” he said.
