Ukaa made the commendation when he led a delegation of the National Executive Committee to pay a visit to the vice chancellor of their Alma Mater, Prof. Isaac N. Itodo.

He expressed gratitude to the vice chancellor and his administration for the remarkable achievements made since assuming office.

Ukaa stated several accomplishments, including sponsoring the university team to represent Nigeria at the 2024 Enactus World Cup in Astana, Kazakhstan, a prestigious global event for innovative minds.

He also commended the university for granting academic amnesty to students who were unable to graduate within the stipulated time, enabling them to return and complete their programmes successfully, and ensuring the prompt computation of students’ results and timely mobilisation for the National Youth Service Scheme.

Other strides that excited the Alumni included the inaugural lectures by professors showcasing their research, innovations, and teaching activities, thereby enhancing the university’s reputation, and the introduction of new academic programmes to enrich the university’s educational offerings.

He also requested the vice chancellor’s intervention to prevent further encroachment on alumni land. Additionally, he urged the vice chancellor to provide suitable accommodation for the Directorate of Alumni Relations and facilitate the rehabilitation of the SRS Junction – University Road.

In response, Prof. Itodo, speaking on behalf of the university management, welcomed and appreciated the national president and his delegation.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by the university and outlined the progress made under his leadership, aiming to further improve the university’s ranking.

Itodo assured that the university graduates would receive preference in employment opportunities and pledged to address the requests made by the National President, similar to his response to the academic amnesty plea.

Regarding infrastructural development, the vice chancellor highlighted completed and ongoing projects to enhance the University’s facilities to align with its academic objectives.
