Nwakali Wins Barnsley’s December Goal Of The Month Award

Nigeria midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali, has scooped Barnsley’s Goal of the Month Award for December.

Nwakali’s stunning volley in Barnsley’s 2-1 victory over Exeter on December 14 was overwhelming voted for by the club’s supporters.

The 26-year-old struck from the edge -of -the box to help his club secure a 2-1 victory at the St James’ Park.

It was the playmaker’s maiden goal for the League One club.

The former Golden Eaglets captain took to the social media to celebrate the award.

“Goal of the month award (December), it can only be God, thanks to everyone who voted me for this award,” he wrote on X.

Nwakali joined Barnsley last August on a three-year deal.

He has made nine appearances for Barnsley this season.
