The executive secretary of the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), Mohammed Abu Ibrahim, has outlined the NADF’s strategic priorities for 2025. These priorities focus on enhancing seed production systems, scaling up agricultural financing, and improving rural infrastructure to bolster food security and economic growth.

According to a statement issued by the fund, the outline was given during the presentation of the fund’s budget estimates for the 2025 fiscal year before the Joint Committee of the Senate and the House of Representatives in Abuja.

During the session, Ibrahim highlighted key achievements from 2024, including strengthened partnerships with stakeholders and the successful implementation of several flagship projects, notably the Ginger Recovery Advancement and Transformation for Economic Empowerment (GRATE) project.

Legislators also commended the NADF for its significant strides in 2024, particularly in facilitating sustainable agricultural development across the country.

The lawmakers emphasised the importance of increasing support for the fund to accelerate its initiatives and ensure the timely disbursement of seed capital, which is critical for advancing the nation’s agricultural sector.

The committees reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the NADF to enhance President Tinubu’s administration’s food security agenda.
