The incoming governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has been charged to think outside the box when he assumes the mantle of leadership to be able to bring prosperity to the state.
Governor Kayode Fayemi, who gave the charge yesterday saidNigeria is presently going through a lot of challenges that is taking its toll on the resources and economy of the state.
Fayemi stated this during his “Thank You Tour” to Ekiti South Senatorial District of state in Ikere-Ekiti.
The governor who urged the people of the state to support Oyebanji-led administration when inaugurated noted that the various country challenges are affecting the revenue accrued to the state.
According to him,“Our government would need a lot of thinking outside the box, the governor need a lot of support coming from our people, he would need a lot of understanding and I am confident that you would give him that support in order for him to even do better than what we have been able to do in our period in office”
The governor stated that he has been able to discharged his duties to the best of his ability in all areas to make lives better for the people of Ekiti State in education, human capital development,knowledge economy among others.
“Since 2018 and till now, the early opportunity between 2010 and 2014 and the opportunity of our predecessor and party leader, Otunba Niyi Adebayo between 1999 to 2003, we have tried our best for the people.”
He added that his administration has provided infrastructural facilities that would enhance socio-economic activities of the state and expressed confidence in the ability of the next governor to move the state to enviable heights.
On the entourage of the Governor were his deputy, Otunba BisiEgbeyemi, his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the Governor-Elect, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, his wife, Dr. Mrs. Olayemi Oyebanji, Deputy-Governor-Elect,Mrs. Monisade Afuye, Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Funminiyi Afuye, APC Chairman, Barrister Paul Omotoso, government officials and party supporters.
