Tanzanian President, Suluhu Wins 2022 SDG Presidential Gold Award

The International Directorate of African Affairs of the International Association of World Peace Advocates has announced the President of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan as the winner of this year’s SDG Presidential Gold Award.

A statement from the office of the International Spokesman of the association Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke said President Samia Suluhu Hassan has within the short period she has been in office, showed that leadership is vital to achieving the cardinal objectives which the United Nations SDG programme entails.

 

The statement specifically sited the political peace and stability in Tanzania today a result of her political wisdom which has seen to the release of political prisoners and rapprochement with the opposition. The statement sited the increase in life expectancy rate in the country from 50 years to 66 years, increase in number of women in governance which it described as the highest in the continent, investment in quality education as well as improvement of the health infrastructure of Tanzania among others.

“Her Excellency, Ms. Samia Suluhu Hassan the President of Tanzania will be making double history as the first female president to receive the 2022 Sustainable Development Goals Presidential Gold Award and the unique international Peace Prize Award thereby joining the league of presidents in Africa to receive this award. It will be recalled that the Liberian president George Weah, former Botswana president Seretse Khama Ian Khama were the past recipients of this prestigious international award”.

 

Tanzania under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan is one of the fastest developing countries in east Africa today which has seen it attain a lower-middle-income country status, as well as reducing poverty rate. These achievements according to the statement by Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke are in line in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDGs hence the SDG Presidential Gold Award.

Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke earlier before this time has notified the public that the ceremony will be under the Chairmanship of Sheikh Dr. Almad Mussa Salumu with the Special Appearance of Her Eminence, Amb. Princess Toyin Kolade a Global Diplomat and Eminent Peace Ambassador who is to attend the event with her team of entourage from Nigeria.

The Country Director of the Organization in Tanzania, Amb. Dr. Richard Godwin Magenge disclosed that the event will witness for the first time the Unveiling of the United Nations Plan of Action to safeguard Religious Sites in Unity and Solidarity for Peaceful Worship in Tanzania adding that plans have been concluded for ceremony to hold on Monday 24th October 2022 with the participation of the international community, development partners and donor agencies.

 

The International spokesperson of the Association Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke applauded His Excellency, Zlatan Miliaic the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations and his Team in Tanzania saying that his office has shown the best relationship United Nations office has ever established to promote sustainable peace, social progress and development in AFRICA as evident in the UN activities in Tanzania.

 

The International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA is a global leader in the pursuit of world Peace and the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDG programme all over the world. It also has its ECOSOSC Special Consultative status since 2019 as a world class organization.

 

Recall that the event was billed for Thursday 26th September 2022 but had to be postponed to Monday 24th day of October 2022 inorder to accommodate numerous guests that have indicated interest to be part of the epoch making event.
