Jigawa Speaker Empowers 2,018  Constituents

No fewer than 2,018 people, including youth and women, received empowerment packages amounting to over N45 million distributed by the speaker of Jigawa State House of Assembly Hon Haruna Aliyu Dangyating in his constituency.

Dangyatin who is a member representing Miga constituency, distributed the empowerment packages to support people to improve their own business of choice to achieve poverty eradication and economic growth.

Speaking during the flagging off for the distribution of the packages held in Migawa local government headquarters, the state Governor Malam Umar Namad commended the speaker for the good initiative.

Governor Namadi noted that, the empowerment distributed by the speaker would complement the effort of the federal government and state government   on empowerment and jobs creation for sustainable growth and development.

The governor assured the Jigawa people of his government’s commitment to working with collaborators to build the capacity of the people of the state through all necessary interventions to boost production and sustainable livelihood.

In his remarks, the speaker, Dangyatin, said the beneficiaries were selected from across 10 political wards of his constituency.

He noted that the selection was carefully made to ensure the beneficiaries were not on the list of the state or federal government empowerment programme.

The beneficiaries received different packages, including cash ranging from  N100,000, N50,000, N30,000 and N20,000, respectively.

The speaker also thanked Governor Namadi for supporting members of the state House of Assembly in delivering the dividend of democracy to their people through the “Constituency Project.”
