The Nigerian Army (NA) has announced that it will conduct screening exercises from February 8 to March 17, 2025, to provide educational sponsorship for the children of deceased soldiers.

This initiative was designed to support the children of personnel who died while on active duty, as part of the Army’s welfare package for the families of fallen soldiers. The screening will be open to new applicants, existing beneficiaries seeking an upgrade, and those who missed the screening in 2024.

The Army stated that the initiative aimed to ensure access to quality education at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels for the children of deceased soldiers.

The verification process will take place across the country in designated military headquarters in the six geopolitical zones and Abuja. In the South-South, the screening will be held from February 8 to 11, 2025, at the Headquarters 6 Division in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The South-East screening will take place from February 13 to 16, 2025, at Headquarters 82 Division in Enugu, Enugu State, while the South-West screening will be held from February 18 to 21, 2025, at Headquarters 2 Division in Ibadan, Oyo State.

For the North-East zone, the screening will occur from February 24 to 27, 2025, at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Armour Corps in Bauchi, Bauchi State. The North-West zone will hold its screening from March 1 to 5, 2025, at Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army in Kaduna, Kaduna State, and finally, the North-Central and Abuja screening will take place from March 10 to 17, 2025, at the Army Headquarters Command Officers’ Mess in Asokoro, Abuja.
