Stay Away From APC, Nwoko Warns Delta Governor

The Senator representing Delta North in the Senate, Ned Nwoko, has warned Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State not to contemplate joining him in his new party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nwoko who said this shortly after he was officially received into the APC by the Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja

on Wednesday,

The lawmaker declared that he would not welcome the governor if he eventually joined the APC, as has been rumoured, saying Oborevwori was not his match anywhere.

“My first concern in leaving PDP is to ensure there’s enough time for me to get some things done through the federal government. I’m tired of being in Delta and almost like being in opposition because I tell them what to do, but they don’t want to do it, so I keep telling them.

“Sheriff is not a match for me anywhere. And so he became a governor by default. And suddenly, he doesn’t respect me anymore.

“No, I will not welcome him. How? Why? I have just told you that he can’t be a governor where we are. He has not delivered to my expectations.

“We have projects that I told him that need to be done for the people, which he refused to do,” he said.

Nwoko said he would unite, bring peace to the APC in Delta, and deliver the south-south state to the national party in the next general election.

When he received the Delta North lawmaker, the APC National chairman, Ganduje, asked Nwoko to work with other stakeholders in the party’s interest.

“We are looking forward to a highly organised party structure in that state, composed of men and women, especially young men, who will go from house to house to show that APC dominates almost everywhere.

“You are most welcome, Distinguished Senator, to our great party. Undoubtedly, our great party is the most nationalistic, the party that has spread from all over the country.

“Our party believes in national integration. Our party believes in national unity. Our party believes in progress and providing prosperity to the people of Nigeria,” he said.
