She expressed the company’s readiness to partner with the Yobe State Government to revive the state-owned fertiliser factory.

The state team leader, Baba Malam Wali, expressed satisfaction with the commitment of the OCP/Jorf Lasfar fertiliser factory and the consultants to collaborate with the state government in revitalising the Yobe fertiliser company.

“The Governor Buni administration is strongly committed to reviving the factory to meet the fertiliser needs of farmers in the state, generate employment, and enhance exports to improve the state’s revenue.”

Similarly, the state Commissioner for Agriculture, Honourable Mustapha Goniri, stated that the revival of the fertiliser factory would significantly boost the ongoing agricultural revolution in the state under the Buni administration.

“Last year, the state government launched a massive agricultural empowerment programme, providing 100 tractors, solar pumps, irrigation facilities, and other farm implements, fertiliser, improved seeds, herbicides, and pesticides, all distributed free of charge to farmers.

“Additionally, last month, another 40 tractors were procured by the state government to enhance crop production, thereby improving food security and exports to increase the state’s revenue,” Goniri said.

The African Network Centre, the consulting firm, expressed optimism that the partnership would be mutually beneficial.

“The government and people of Yobe State would benefit immensely from this partnership, which would ensure food sufficiency and security.”

He added, “I have witnessed the great commitment from His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni CON to enhance agriculture in Yobe State, and we are putting everything in place to ensure this partnership succeeds, benefiting the Yobe State Government.”

Meanwhile, Governor Buni is expected to arrive in Morocco to explore partnerships in other areas, including education and direct investments in local government areas.

Leadership gathered that the team, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, included the Commissioners for Agriculture, Honourable Mustapha Goniri; Higher Education, Professor Bello Kawuwa; Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Ibrahim Adamu Jajere; and the Chairman of Damaturu Local Government Council, Honourable Bukar Adamu.
