Kidnappers Demand N250m Ransom To Free Ex-NYSC DG

Kidnappers of General Maharazu Tsiga (rtd), a former director-general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have demanded a N250 million ransom for his release.

A family member confirmed that the abductors contacted them on Thursday night to make the demand.

Tsiga was kidnapped on Wednesday in his hometown, Tsiga village, in Bakori local government area of Katsina State.

The gunmen, armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed his residence, injuring two people and accidentally killing one of their own during the attack.

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the abduction and assured the public that security forces were actively working towards his rescue.

Police spokesperson in the state, Abubakar Sadiq stated that officers responded swiftly to the attack but arrived after the kidnappers had escaped with their victim.

He further noted that security efforts have been intensified, with authorities collaborating with relevant stakeholders to track down the perpetrators.

Similarly, the command has arrested 45 suspects involved in various crimes across the state.
