Gunmen suspected to be bandits has invaded Dogon Ruwa community of Wase local government area of Plateau State, and abducted husband, wife and their child to an unknown destination in the area.
A reliable sources from the area also told our correspondent that two persons sustained gunshot wounds in the process .
Accordion to him, the incident occurred at about 11am when residents of the area were going about their normal activities.
A youth leader in the area, Shapi’i Sambo, also confirmed the incident to our correspondent. He said the gunmen arrived in the community and started shooting sporadically to scare members of the community away before abducting their victims.
Sambo also said security personnel and vigilante members have moved to the bush to rescue the victims.
He said, “When the gunmen arrived the community, people were going about their normal activities. The gunmen started shooting sporadically to disperse residents.
“Many people fled to safety. Unfortunately, a man, wife and child were abducted. The armed men came with sophisticated weapons.
“Two persons sustained injuries and were taken to hospital in Dogo Ruwa for treatment,” he added.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the police command, DSP Alabo Alfred, has not responded to an inquiry by our correspondent regarding the incident at the time of filling this report.
