The newly appointed board chairman of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET) Company, Sulaiman Argungu has pledged to work closely with other members of the board and management of the company to improve electricity trading and supply in the country.
Argungu who is the national organising secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made this pledge at his maiden meeting with the NBET management at the company’s headquarters in Abuja.
He was received by the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Johnson Akinnawo, along with the board of directors and senior management staff of the company.
Argungu acknowledged NBET’s vital role in the electricity sector and underscored the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda of ensuring sustainable progress and efficiency in the sector.
The chairman further reaffirmed his commitment to advancing policies that would promote stability, transparency, and innovation in electricity trading, with a strong focus on sustainable and renewable energy solutions.
Earlier, the acting NBET MD, Akinnawo emphasised NBET’s critical role in maintaining a stable and efficient electricity trading framework in Nigeria while highlighting the Board’s efforts to enhance the country’s power sector.
