The governor made the assertion during a two-day retreat for members of the State Executive Council and top government officials held at International Conference Centre, Gombe, Gombe State yesterday.

He mentioned some of the factors responsible for the improvement to include youth employment and increased budget allocations by his government.

According to the governor, the 2024 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) and General Household Survey indicated appreciable improvements in some human development indices while numerous youths have been gainfully employed or empowered across various sectors.

Namadi also announced that the 2025 budget has increased by over 130% compared to the 2024 original budget, demonstrating the state’s commitment to investing in its people and infrastructure.

The retreat, themed “Ascending the Peak – Achieving Greater Jigawa Vision Through Innovation and Transformative Leadership,” aims to build on previous progress, foster synergy among MDAs, and expose participants to new perspectives on innovation and transformation.

In his speech, the governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, commended his Jigawa State counterpart for organising the retreat saying it would provide a platform for Jigawa State officials to reflect, learn, and equip themselves with knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles.
