A federal lawmaker from Kaduna State, Amos Gwamna Magaji, has justified his recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying Southern Kaduna has benefited more from the APC-led government in terms of federal appointments.

Magaji, who represents Zangon Kataf/Jaba constituency in the 10th National Assembly, said his decision was driven by the need to secure better representation and opportunities for his constituents.
Speaking to journalists yesterday, the chairman of the House Committee on Health alleged that his constituency had been marginalized when seeking federal and state-level support.

“They don’t give us much attention because we do not belong to their party. By the way, Southern Kaduna has benefited more from the APC government in terms of federal appointments than what the PDP had ever done,” Magaji said.

He further stated that he had personally faced unfair treatment from the PDP, which contributed to his decision to switch political allegiance.

Highlighting his accomplishments since assuming office, Magaji said he has prioritized infrastructure and social development in his constituency.

“I represent two local government areas with 21 political wards. I have been able to build at least a block of classrooms in each of these wards. Also, I have provided clean water supplies by constructing boreholes across the wards,” he stated.
