Controversial social media critic, Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has openly taunted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apparently over the agency’s selective trial of abusers of Naira.

VeryDarkMan took to his social media handles on Tuesday night to post photos of himself spraying naira notes in a club in Jos, Plateau State.

He captioned the post: “Okoya is my new surname so EFCC no go talk where there is no law there is no crime….. @officialefcc hello how are y’all anyways mad fun at CHILLERS BY NEWYORKER IN JOS.”

LEADERSHIP reports the recent controversy involving Raheem and Wahab Okoya, sons of billionaire industrialist Chief Razaq Okoya, when they appeared in a viral video spraying wads of Naira notes while dancing.

Recall that the Okoya brothers faced public backlash after the viral video showed them in agbada outfits flaunting bundles of crisp N1,000 notes. The video, reportedly meant to promote Raheem’s new song, ‘Credit Alert’, also featured a uniformed police officer holding the bundles of cash for them while they danced and sprayed the money.

The video sparked widespread outrage, with many questioning whether the sons of an influential businessman would face any consequences. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) later confirmed that the officer seen in the footage had been detained and was undergoing disciplinary action for unethical conduct.

Following the backlash, Raheem Okoya took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue an apology, saying, “My intentions were pure. I was naive.”

The EFCC, which earlier prosecuted controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, a.k.a. Bobrisky, and later celebrity bartender, Pascal Okechukwu, a.k.a. Cubana Chief Priest, over Naira abuse offences, kept mute over the Okoya boys saga.
