The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina States, Dr Umar Dikko Radda has said that he would focus on issue-based campaigns to win the 2023 election.

He stated this yesterday during an interaction with journalists in Katsina.

Radda said Nigeria’s democracy is gradually growing to maturity since the signed into law electoral act, voters’ conference has been restored.

With this development, he said people are going to vote based on the credibility of a candidate and what he has to offer and not the party he is contesting.

“Mindful of the fact that we have a lot of misunderstanding within the context of voting and contesting the election. And we are not doing a campaign based on purpose-driven, but rather a campaign of the colony, character abuse and what have you.

“We intend to focus the campaign of 2023 on issue-based, we have to look at issues and what we can contribute to solving the issue of the state, not for the fact I belong to APC or PDP or NNPP. I think that is not going to help the state because politicians move from one ship to the other,” he said

Radda further explained that politicians only care about how to achieve their aspirations and are never concerned about the interest of the people and the state as a whole.
