EFCC Arrests 59 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 59 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Abuja.

This was made known on Wednesday by the EFCC on its X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to the EFCC, the arrests were carried out by operatives from the Abuja Zonal Directorate on Monday, February 24, 2025.

“The suspects were apprehended at Abacha Road in the Mararaba axis of Nasarawa State following what the agency described as credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in fraudulent cyber activities,” the commission stated.

During the operation, EFCC operatives recovered 73 mobile phones of various brands from the suspects.

“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the commission stated.
