Esa Oke community in the Obokun local government area of Osun State has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to expedite action on his promised panel of inquiry to investigate the crisis that occurred in the community on February 3, 2025.
Addressing newsmen in Esa Oke, the Owamiran of Esa Oke, Oba Adeyemi Akanbi, expressed concern over the delay in the panel’s inauguration, stating that the community is eager to present its case and seek justice over the recent disturbances.
Oba Akanbi commended Governor Adeleke for his prompt intervention, particularly his pledge to cover the medical expenses of those injured and support those arrested.
However, he emphasized that the community remains anxious about the fulfilment of the promised panel of inquiry and medical expenses, among other things.
Oba Akanbi reiterated that the people of Esa Oke are peace-loving and do not wish to resort to violence.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Esa-Oke Central Union, Bamigbeyi Yinusa Aremu, raised concerns over the delay in implementing the governor’s resolutions following the community crisis.
He emphasised that the situation remains tense, alleging that Ido Ajegunle, led by Baale Timileyin Ajayi’s allies, has been harassing its people farming on the land.
