Reverend Ishaya Audu made the call while speaking during the commissioning of the Parish Office Building of St Finbaar’s Catholic Church Jos, which was renovated and furnished by the chairman of Shendam local government area.

LEADERSHIP recalled that St Finbarr’s Catholic Church Rayfield was bombed by Boko Haram on March 12, 2012, when a suicide bomber detonated explosives after being stopped at the church gates.

The attack killed four people, including the bomber, and damaged the church building in the process.
He applauded the chairman for carrying out the project despite the dwindling resources and urged other Christians to emulate the gesture.

According to him, the Church of God needs assistance. He commended church members for renovating the gallery and the pews, among other projects they have carried out.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Shendam local government area, Kemi Nshe, said the church played a very important role in his growth as a Christian, hence the decision to give back to the church.
