Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga announced it on his social media handle on Friday .

“President Bola Tinubu appoints Professor Attahiru Jega as Presidential adviser and coordinator of Presidential Livestock Reforms.

“The appointment places the former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the helm of efforts to modernise Nigeria’s livestock sector, a key component of the administration’s broader agricultural and economic strategy,” Onanuga said in the statement.

Jega, a professor of political science and former Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, previously played a pivotal role in reforming Nigeria’s electoral system.
