24-year-old Student Gives Birth To Quintuplets In Umuahia

A 24-year-old student, Oluomachi Nwojo, has been delivered of a set of quintuplets at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

The two boys and three girls, LEADERSHIP gathered at the centre were delivered through caesarian section at about 8.24 am and are in stable condition.

According to the hospital source, which pleaded anonymity, the boys, who were still inborn during the visit “would soon be brought out to join their sisters” and mother who was in a deep sleep.

In their separate reactions, Oluomachi’s mother, Mrs Cecilia Nwojo, and her brother-in-law, Chigozie Nwoye, confirmed that twin birth runs in their respective families.

Mrs Nwojo, the elated grand-mother, who appears to be in her late 50s, while feeding one of the girls, said: “Oluomachi herself and her elder sister are twins.”

Similarly, Chigozie, speaking on behalf of Oluomachi’s husband, Chinedum Nwoye, who was absent at the time, said he has a set of twins.

Nwoye, who disclosed that they are from Anambra State joined the Nwojos in expressing gratitude to God, adding that they were ready for assistance from good-spirited sources.
