Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has eulogised Seyi Tinubu, founder of the Renewed Hope Youth Empowerment Initiative, for his contributions to politics and economic development.
He stated this in his remark while playing host to Seyi Tinubu, who was accompanied by the Minister of Youth Development, Sunday Olawande, at the Government House in Sokoto.
Governor Aliyu who described the visit as a testament to the initiative’s dedication to youth empowerment, emphasized the importance of youth-focused initiatives, including a think-tank discussion on national development.
Tinubu expressed his commitment to youth development in Sokoto, pledging that his foundation would continue to support initiatives across the state’s 23 local government areas.
He commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu administration’s efforts in supporting young people, including appointing the youths into key positions in government and providing free education for all students. regardless of religion or ethnicity.
Seyi Tinubu was in Sokoto, where he visited some of the sick people receiving treatment at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, UDUTH, for his philanthropic gestures during Ramadan, especially towards the less privileged.
Speaking earlier, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, reiterated the federal government’s commitment to youth empowerment.
He noted that President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Aliyu share a common vision for youth advancement, ensuring that resources allocated to Sokoto are effectively utilised.
The minister also praised the introduction of a student loan scheme, describing it as a landmark initiative to support Nigerian students.
He assured that more youth-centred programmes are in the pipeline, with Sokoto set to benefit from key initiatives in agriculture, housing, and internship programmes.
“The youth are the backbone of our country. We are committed to empowering them and taking the state to greater heights,” Olawande stated.
