Good Governance: Buni Appoints 50 Focal Persons

Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has appointed over 50 focal persons across various sectors to enhance governance activities in the state.

The appointments reflect the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and effective service delivery.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the newly appointed focal persons, drawn from different local governments and professional backgrounds, were tasked with bridging the gap between the government and the people.

They are expected to provide critical feedback, implement development initiatives, and ensure that government programmes and policies are effectively communicated and executed at the grassroots level.

Speaking on the appointments, the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, disclosed the need for active participation in governance, stating, “This administration is focused on achieving sustainable development and improving the lives of our people.”

He said that appointing focal persons is part of the strategy to ensure inclusivity, accountability, and a direct impact on citizens’ lives.

According to him, the focal persons will serve in areas such as health, education, agriculture, youth empowerment, women’s development, and development partners.

Their roles are designed to complement other government officials by addressing specific local challenges and fostering community engagement.
