Over 100 participants are expected to converge at the tracks adjacent to the renowned Smokin’ Hills Golf Course for the 2025 Ondo Auto Rally scheduled for April 19 on the racing tracks of Ilara-Mokin, Ondo state.
Organisers said the rally, in its eight edition, would showcase speed, skill and innovation while also featuring off-road challenges on rugged terrain, high-speed bike races with daring riders, and the X-Kart series which has become a hallmark of motorsport in Nigeria.
Adeoye Ojuoko, The President of Work and Play Promotions, organiser of the rally, said: “This edition will attract racers, bikers, and automotive enthusiasts from across Nigeria.”
According to Ojuoko, the organiser will also derive motivation from the Ondo state government that has reckoned the rally as a flagship tourism event to showcase the state’s beauty and cultural vibrancy to a global audience.
Meanwhile, the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has pledged its support for the rally after its its Director-General, Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, said the rally has consistently championed initiatives that align with the council’s national objective to transform the automotive industry into a hub of creativity and opportunity.
“The Work and Play group deserve commendation for their tireless efforts at elevating auto sports across Nigeria and I believe this collaboration underscores our shared vision of making Nigeria a global player in the motorsport arena,” Osanipin said.
