Security operatives have arrested some kidnappers operating in the Qua’an Pan local government area of Plateau State.
Chairman of Qua’an Pan LGA, Christopher Manship, confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement signed by his senior special adviser on media and publicity, Danaan Sylvanus.
He also confirmed that the sum of N2.25 million was recovered from the kidnappers.
The statement added that the Qua’an Pan local government council chairman has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing regional security.
Our correspondent reports that the suspects were paraded during a high-level security meeting at Koprume Barrack, Qua’an-Pan local government area.
The statement also reads that the kidnappers collected a ransom of N2.25 million.
Manship also added that the security agencies demonstrated exceptional professionalism in retrieving the ransom and apprehending the suspects.
In a similar development, security operatives also arrested one person for attacking travellers along Juku Road, Nasarawa State. He confessed that their operations involved the use of AK47 rifles.
The chairman urged the security agencies to intensify their efforts to apprehend kidnappers and robbers terrorising the area.
